Max and Hedi Gossweiler emigrated from Switzerland in 1981.

Now in Canada, the Gossweilers own and operate the Lone Eagle Motel and Campground since 1983.

In 1997 they bought their first alpacas and the business was named  Swiss Line Alpacas.

 

At on time the herd grew to over 100 alpacas. Every year they harvest the fibre

Hedi as transforms it into beautiful products, be it high fashion designs or everyday products. Hedi is a fashion designer by trade. 

The name Alpaca Expressions of Canada was created which presents the fashion part from the alpaca business.

After operating the alpaca farm for over 20 years, the alpaca herd was sold in 2018.

Hedi is still creating and producing alpaca products and sells it through the gift shop, online and on high end trade shows.

Location
The Motel & Alpaca Gift Shop  are conveniently located in Herbert, Saskatchewan on Highway #1, just 30 min. east of Swift Current.

Our Goal and Commitment

Giving our motel customers over the many years a first class service and relaying on repeat business is very rewarding.
We are also striving to serve our customers in the alpaca and (fibre) fashion industry the same way.


Hedi, with many award-winning creations, is a leader in designing and producing unique alpaca fashions. She believes in high quality Canadian made products. The name tag Alpaca Expressions of Canada says it all

Max was serving as a director of the Saskatchewan Alpaca Breeders Network (SABN)
He was also a driving force behind the first Canadian Alpaca campaign on Global TV.

Hedi's other passion is needle felting and also painting, mainly acrylics but also enjoys water colour. 

Hedi is involved in numerous fashion shows including Sask fibre in demand in Saskatoon in Sept. 2007 and the annual fashion show at the Cowboy Poetry and Western Art & Gear Show in Maple Creek.

Hedi has won many first place awards, including Judge’s Choice awards, at fibre competitions. 

She  participated in the 2005 High Fibre Exhibition at Art Gallery of Swift Current and also exhibits yearly at the Summer Salon at the Art Gallery of Swift Current.

She iwas the coordinator of the annual Highway1StudioTour and is a member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
